Hi, I’m Jude, a lifelong London cyclist and passionate book lover.
I use two wheels to get just about everywhere, from school runs to cross-country solo rides (including John O’Groats to Land’s End and Brussels to Budapest). I’ve piloted tandems for visually impaired riders with MSSC and worked with Cyclechic to champion women’s cycling—proving you don’t need Lycra or a carbon frame to be part of the scene.
As a journalist, I’ve written for publications including Time Out, Wanderlust, and National Geographic Traveller, often covering the intersection of travel, culture, and urban life.
For nearly a decade, I worked at one of London’s most iconic independent bookshops, curating literary events, spotlighting new voices, and building community around books. I’ve been a judge for the Indie Book Awards and continue to volunteer with the London Bookshop Crawl, where I help host a monthly book swap and bookish chat.
I studied English Literature and Linguistics before completing an MA in Creative Writing, where my thesis explored psychogeography and mapped London’s Ghost Bikes (memorials that mark the lives of cyclists lost on the road).
Literary Spin is where my passions come together—cycling through London, discovering the literary nooks and landmarks tucked into its streets, and sharing the books that fill my panniers. Think of it as part travelogue and part book journal.
